JAMB CAPS: How do I check my admission status in caps portal and can I accept or reject admission if I have not been offered admission yet? That’s what you are about to learn in this tutorial.

I have already explained everything about Jamb caps for 2018/2019 admission. If you still don’t have full idea of what Jamb caps is about then click here now to read more about JAMB CAPS PORTAL.

Steps To Check Your 2018/19 Admission Status In Caps Portal

Ensure you have active data bundle.

Open your favourite browser (Preferably, Google Chrome).

Visit the jamb caps admission checking portal using this link http://caps.jamb.gov.ng/acceptadmission.aspx.

Then scroll down to check CAPS UTME/DE Admission status.

Click on UTME/DE Admission button to check and accept/reject your 2018 status of admission.

Your details including Jamb score, institution, date of birth, etc will appear when you have successfully logged in to Jamb caps portal.

If you are given admission and you like the school then click on accept admission.

If the institution and course space is blank or you have not been offered admission then don’t click on accept admission. Just keep checking back.

Be very careful not to accept admission when you are not offered (or when you have hope of gaining admission in a better school).

Once you accept the admission offered you then your admission door is closed for that year.

On the other hand, if you see welcome while you click on CAPS, don’t be annoyed. Just use desktop version to see the menu and then click on check admission status (Click on the three dots on Google Chrome and scroll down to see desktop site).

Jamb Caps Admission Status Portal

Not Admitted In My Jamb Caps Portal/Market Place

Accept The Admission Status:

If you see not admitted yet in your Jamb Caps market place it means your school hasn’t started giving admission and all you have to do is close the page and keep checking back. Don’t click on the accept admission TAB (It would not be clickable self).

By the time your school of choice releases her admission list, you will not only see the “ACCEPT” icon but also a ‘DECLINE’ icon . You are enjoined not to click on the ‘ACCEPT’ icon until you receive an admission notification from your institution of choice.

I Mistakenly Click Accept Admission In My Caps Portal?

If you mistakenly accepted admission when you have not been offered admission by any school yet then I don’t think that would be an issue.

The main issue is when you have been offered admission in a particular school already and you accepted it. It then means that your door of admission for that year has closed. I wish you the best.

Jamb Introduced new admission method which will began in the year 2017. The process is called Jamb Central Admission Processing System(CAPS). It is through Jamb caps you can check and accept Jamb 2019 admission.

Now, you may be wondering, how do I accept admission using Jamb CAPS? Your answer is right in this article.
Caps is the Step-by-Step Process Flow of the Admission Exercise for the Education and Information of general public and the stakeholders, particularly the Candidates.

Jamb CAPS For Jamb 2019/2020 Admission Process Flow

14. The JAMB (Admission Officer) reviews the Recommended Candidates to confirm they are from those initially sent to the Institution; met the Admissions Criteria as advertised in the brochure and as set on CAPS by the Institution, including upload of and confirm that no qualified candidate has been unjustly denied Admission.

The List of Candidates so selected from the Market Place are then pushed to JAMB who then notify the Candidates of Market Place consideration by Institutions. Candidate may Accept / Reject Market Place consideration, subject to a maximum of three (3) Market Place considerations at a time.

The Candidates could also approach the Market Place to announce availability for Admission consideration from any institution or for any programme different from those earlier indicated during the UTME Registration, provided s/he has requisite O’ Level Results and wrote the required subject combination in the UTME.

LASPOTECH HND Admission Screening date for the 2018/2019 academic session has been announced by the management of the polytechnic.

All candidates who applied for admission into Full-Time Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes at Lagos State Polytechnic are hereby notified that the CBT screening examination is scheduled to hold from Monday 27th – Wednesday 29th August, 2018 at the ICT Centre, Ikorodu campus, Ikorodu Lagos.

All prospective HND students of LASPOTECH for the 2018/2019 academic session are advised to take note of this piece of information and adhere to it.

This to notify candidates seeking admission into various tertiary institutions for the 2018/2019 academic session that the JAMB CAPS have been activated for the admission exercise.

This means that candidates can now monitor their admission status and easily know when they have been offered an admission.

Once a candidate has been offered admission, such candidate is required to do either of two things; to accept the admission or to reject it.

Once you accept the admission, your admission quest is over as you will no longer be available for other schools' admission consideration. On the other hand, if you reject the admission, you become available to other schools who have free admission slots for admission consideration.

It is important to note also that candidates who have been offered admission on JAMB CAPS are to equally print their admission letter after accepting the admission, as they will likely need this during clearance and registration in the school that they have been admitted.

We therefore advise candidates to closely monitor their admission status on JAMB CAPS so as to do the needful as soon as possible.

Some schools may not even publish list of admitted candidates on their own portal or notice board. So for candidates that applied for admission in such schools, the only way to know when they have been offered admission is to check their admission status on JAMB CAPS.
